Toronto FC announced Thursday that the team has sold out its season seats for the 2009 Major League Soccer season. The team has capped season sales at 16,000 for the second straight season.

The team is also proud to announce that 95% of those season seats came in the form of renewals. As well, over 400 full season seats were sold to those on the team’s waiting list, which translates into 200 “graduates” for the 2009 season.

“We’re amazed at the support by our fans,” said Toronto FC Senior Director of Business Operations Paul Beirne. “Having these “graduates” become season seat holders is exciting for us too. It’s about welcoming and engaging new supporters for the upcoming season, who will now be able to experience the exciting atmosphere and not miss a minute of game day at BMO Field.”

Kate and Nick Head of Dunnville, Ontario were the lucky recipients of the final season seats that were available.

“I was delighted when I got the call from David (our sales representative),” said Kate Head. “We were anxious to get tickets – and when he suggested it was possible to get two season seats, but not together, we snapped them right up! Hopefully next season we’ll be able to move the seats together, but for now, we are looking forward to our first game.”

Red List partial packs sales will begin the week of December 15. For more information on those, and how you can become a member of Toronto FC’s waiting list visit http://www.torontofc.ca

Toronto FC will open the 2009 MLS season on Saturday, March 21 in Kansas City, followed by a match Saturday, March 28 in Columbus. That game against the Crew will mark the first game to decide the winner of the 2009 Trillium Cup. TFC will play their home opener at BMO Field the following weekend on Saturday, April 4 against the expansion Seattle Sounders FC.
